Founded in 1985 in the Netherlands, Technotrading has been a trusted supplier of tools and equipment for maritime and offshore industrial maintenance for nearly four decades. The company serves customers worldwide, including in the Netherlands, Spain, and the United States.

In 2011, Jeroen van Waveren took over the business with a clear and exciting vision of growth for the future. Analyzing the way operations were managed so far, he quickly identified that the company’s outdated AS-400 system and inefficient processes were holding it back.

The decision was made to move forward with Odoo’s all-in-one company management solution, with the ambition to lay the groundwork for the next ambitious chapter.

Implementing Odoo’s management system, the right move to achieve greater results

After a year of careful analysis and preparation, Technotrading implemented Odoo’s management system (formerly OpenERP), and has continuously upgraded to newer versions since. The team chose this tool for 2 main reasons:

 Comprehensive system: Odoo offers a complete all-in-one solution to handle sales, purchasing, accounting, and warehousing efficiently in a single interface. 

 Customizability and flexibility: Odoo opens up to tailor-made modules to fit Technotrading’s unique operational needs. 

Initially, Technotrading was using Odoo’s solution as an ERP for core business operations. However, as the company grew, so did its reliance on Odoo. The use of the platform extended to a more global management system. Today, Technotrading leverages Odoo for its website, e-commerce platform, marketing automation, and marketplace integrations.

Structuring and automating work processes to unlock new levels of efficiency

Installing Odoo’s software has proved to be a great decision. Indeed, it has transformed Technotrading’s operations, bringing structure and automation to critical workflows. 

The company observed several key benefits with Odoo’s management system implementation:

Technosafety: a subsidiary growing with Odoo and becoming a key player in the safety industry

In addition to Technotrading, the company also operates Technosafety, a specialist in safety and protective equipment. Formerly known as Medisafe Benelux, Technosafety has been operating under its new name since 2020 and shares the same facility as Technotrading.

Technosafety supplies essential personal protective equipment (PPE), safety gear, and protective materials for various industries. With a growing demand for high-quality safety solutions, the company needed a robust, integrated software system to manage sales, inventory, and customer interactions efficiently.

Similar to Technotrading, Technosafety relies on Odoo to streamline its operations, benefiting from:

Technotrading continues to optimize its webshop, website, and warehouse management using Odoo’s evolving features. Automated processes and centralized data have freed up valuable time, allowing the team to focus on:
